2 feet by 1 feet

 

What does it like to eat? 

Pet store food, Pet store treats, sunflower seeds, fruits & veggies like squash, banana & strawberry cut into small pieces, small pieces of cooked chicken

 

How much does it cost on a regular basis?

  • Food $5-$10

  • Bedding $5-$10

  • Miscellaneous (vitamin supplement, etc.) $5-$10

Is it lot of work to maintain this pet? 

Not really, spot cleaning every day, and cleaning the cage & replacing bedding once every week

 

Does it get stinky? 

No, if you follow what is mentioned above. Hamsters themselves don’t have any stink.

  • Hideout

  • Hamster Ball (this is not inside the cage, but a must-have)

 

Fun things to know

  • Respond to you calling its name

  • Hamsters can store food in their cheeks and eat it later

  • Cute to watch them hold food in their paws and eat

  • Fun to watch it jump

 

Useful tips

  • Their teeth grow throughout their life, so they always need some wood to grind their teeth on (every pet store has wood toys that do not cost much)

  • Do not startle your hamster, as it might bite you

  • Make sure your hamster gets it right share of exercise every day
