Is it a lot of work to maintain this pet?
Not really. Use full spectrum lighting 12-14 hours per day. Provide a basking area with access to a cooler zone. Provide rocky basking areas, likes crevices and caves. Temperature: Day temperature should be a gradient from 80-92 degrees F. Adult swifts should be fed every other day, with each feeding consisting of as many prey items as will be readily consumed in 15 to 20 minutes. Avoid allowing excess, uneaten prey to linger within the enclosure.

Emerald swifts should have a basking temperature of ~95°F, as measured by a digital probe thermometer with the probe placed on the basking surface. The cool side temperature should be between 75-85°F, and night temps can drop as low as 68°F.
